Zircon Sand
Zircon is an opaque, hard wearing mineral with unique chemical resistance and thermal stability properties. Over half of all zircon is used in the production of ceramics where it provides whiteness, strength and corrosion resistance. The most common use is in ceramic floor and wall tiles with others including sinks, sanitary ware and tableware.
Specifications:
Purity: High-grade rutile with a minimum ZrO₂ content of 60% – 65%.
Particle Size: Customized to client requirements.
The main categories of zircon products are
- Premium – typically used for ceramics manufacturing (for example tiles, sanitary wear) but also for high-tolerance refractory linings and foundry castings also utilise zircon in their manufacturing to provide chemical and corrosion resistance.
- Universal and standard grade products – used for a range of applications, including digital printing, lower quality ceramics, zirconium chemicals, casting, foundry and other uses.
